This work was inspired by a science fiction novel that I read as a teenager.
It tells a story about a world, in which trees begin to sparkle (probably by a virus), but at the same time petrify or become diamonds. At first, people are happy about it, because they only think about getting rich. Then it turns out that if these diamond trees are touched, you immediately become diamond too. Finally, the entire world is dead and petrified, beautifully glistening like diamonds.
