The most important thing for Swabians is to keep everything clean. There’s this thing called “Kehrwoche”. It describes a time period where people have specific duties such as cleaning shared areas like sidewalks.
Then, there’s the ‘small’ and ‘big’ “Kehrwoche”. Each comes with particular cleaning duties, e. g. cleaning the trash cans and the border separating the sidewalk from the street. But what happens behind the polished white fences? What’s hidden behind the clean covers?
I used Watercolor and Oil Paint to express the difference between the clean facade and what’s behind. The inside and the outside are far apart.
