Looking Glasses

“Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There” by Lewis Carroll, published in 1871, forms the basis for the title of the picture. However, unlike in Lewis Carroll’s story, these are not mirrors, but small jars originally used for herbs. Now they have a different role. When the viewer looks through them, each time a different colored facet of a strange universe or multiverse with even stranger wormholes is revealed, generated by the lids, through which travel to other dimensions is possible.

Strange structures (the plastic cones) appear to be rays, or they form passages to other space-times. The viewer should engage with the various facets and forms of the Dadaist image, giving free rein to their imagination, just as Alice embarked on her journey behind the mirrors, open and curious.
