In the 1960s, floods in Bangladesh were on the TV news every year. Bangladesh has long since stopped being an area of interest. In the meantime, “climate change”, as it is downplayed instead being called climate catastrophe, has affected the whole world. The man-made problem is actually obvious: flooding, the so-called “flood of the century”, no longer occurs every 100 years, but more and more frequently, including in Europe and the USA. There, tornadoes and hurricanes are getting worse and worse and cost billions to rebuild. Nevertheless, people still doubt that this is self-inflicted: warming seas, dying forests, etc. Biodiversity is not only declining rapidly in the world’s oceans. The problem should have been known long ago. Jörg Zink wrote the text “The last seven days of creation” for an anti-nuclear group in Stuttgart (Württ.), which was published in 1971: Stuttgart, Kreuz-Verlag, 1971. Like many other publicists and scientists, he was not taken seriously.
The image is inspired by the hurricanes that we hear about more and more often each year. People, trees, animals, houses, everything swirls through the air. There is no longer a chance. The strong colors in red and green valeurs underline the force of the storms through the complementary contrast (red – green).
