Floating

This work was inspired by a friend, also an artist – Noire LaZard – and her drawings of cubes that give the viewer the impression of floating through various dimensions. I worked with canvas, acrylic paints and geometric shapes made of cardboard, which had been used as filler or packaging material (usually seen as trash) like in Dadaist art. The cardboard shapes were glued to the canvas and additionally attached to the canvas with plaster bandages. The bold colors complement each other to show the different facets of light and color on the one hand, and on the other to awaken the viewers’ desire to float through the shapes and colors. Where might the journey take us?
